The Humane Society of Lake County

Gracie is a very sweet and gentle kitty.  She is a great lap cat and loves to have her long fur brushed and her belly rubbed.  Gracie will be wonderful with kids, also.  She is patiently awaiting her “forever” home.  She asks, “May I go home with you?”

On March 9, 2009, the National Wildlife Federation recognized the Humane Society’s Memorial Garden as a Certified Wildlife Habitat.  This sign was posted in the Garden because the Garden provides the four basic habitat elements needed for wildlife to thrive:  food, water, cover, and places to raise young.

Bear is an energetic chatty teenager with lots of love to give.  He loves to romp and play with his buddies, but likes to be the center of attention.  He would do great with another cat because he gets lonely easily.  He has a gray belly that he loves to have rubbed.  If you can supply the toys, he can supply the love.

Loverboy is exactly what his name implies.  He is also chatty, full of spunk, and will follow you everywhere.  He is outgoing and plays well with others.  He is Sock’s brother.

Socks is a quiet and shy male kitten which can be standoffish at first; however, he will warm up after a bit.  He is very cute and loves to eat.  He will hide and pounce on anything that moves.  He is Loverboy’s brother.

My name is Suzie, and I am a female black and tan Coonhound.  I absolutely love everyone, as well as other dogs.  For the most part, I am pretty laid back; although, I do become very excited when I’m taken for walks.  I am here at the Shelter waiting for you, and I can assure you that I’ll make a wonderful pet for you and your family.

Blossom is a beautiful sweet-natured cat.  She loves to have her long coat stroked and brushed.  She also loves to cuddle with her brother, Tigger, and she is fully declawed.  She is the ideal lap cat.

Thumper is a male Shepherd mix.  He is very sweet and quite loveable.  He enjoys running and playing ball and frisbee.  He also likes walks.  He just loves everyone.  Thumper is at the Shelter waiting to meet you.

Tigger is a very, very sweet cat that is totally declawed and has no tail.  He is the perfect loafer for a lazyboy and will roll over for a belly rub.  Tigger is Blossom’s brother.

Hi!  My name is Gilligan.  I am a male tiger kitten.  I am very sweet and loveable, and I very much like to cuddle with people.  I also like to play; however, I do not care for other cats.  Perhaps you will be the forever family that I am dreaming of.  Thanks.

Hello everyone; my name is Buttercup.  I am a female Golden Lab mix.  My humans here at the shelter tell me that I am a very, very good girl.  I love to be petted and cuddled.  I very much enjoy going for walks and having attention paid to me.  I am fairly mello and just like being with you.  I’ll be waiting here at the shelter for you to come visit me.  See you soon!

Jasmine has been declawed.  Her nature is very loveable and lady-like.  Jasmine will be a wonderful addition to a calm home where she can be a quiet companion.
