The Humane Society of Lake County

On December 4, 2010, from 11:00 until 2:00, the Humane Society of Lake County will host a its annual Christmas Party for the Animals at the Shelter on McKinley Road (two miles north of Eustis on SR 19).  Please bring your furry family member/s (leashed or in a pet carrier) and have his or her picture taken with Santa!  The pictures will be digital and we will give them to you on a disk.  Refreshments will be available, and door prizes will be given.  The dogs and cats at the Shelter have a wish list which identifies their needs:  medium and large nyla bones, large kongs, ropes with knots, non-scoopable kitty litter, canned or dry cat or dog food, treats, and toys. Thank you.

I am the quiet one of my litter.  Sleeping, eating, and hangin’ out are my favorite things to do.  I am playful and my BIG green eyes, along with my sweet personality, make me the perfect addition to my purrrrrrrfect forever home.

I am a small Terrier mix, very sweet, and a happy little boy.  I just love everybody.  Going for walks, running in the yard, and playing with my toys are my favorite things to do.  Please come and visit me at the Shelter so we can introduce ourselves and spend some time together. Maybe yours is the forever home I am looking for.

I was named after the actress in Twilight, and I am very mysterious and full of intrigue.  I have lovely coloring and I am very mild-mannered.  I can be a bit shy at first, but not for long.  Let’s share a cold, wintry night together, snuggling while I purr us to a land far, far away.  (My long, flowing tail is not showing in this picture.)

Hi.  I am a Poodle mix that enjoys most just being with people.  I also think my walks are the greatest, and I like being petted and having my belly rubbed.  I invite you to come to the Shelter to visit me so we can become acquainted.  I may get very excited when I see you; however, I will quickly settle down so you can take me for a walk.  Maybe you are the very human I am seeking, so we could love each other.

Hello.  My name is Ariel, an eight-month-old mixed breed.  I am medium to large in size, and I am extremely sweet and loving.  I enjoy walks and playing in the fenced yard.  When people come to see me, I get so excited that I light up and my whole body wags.  Please come to the Shelter to meet me, as I’m ready for my “forever” home.  Thanks.

I am a little smarter than my brothers Drakar and Charlie, but don’t tell them that.  I love to watch Charlie chase his tail, and Drakar is in his own little world as I plan their demise and pounce on them out of nowhere.  I love to run and tumble, and I love to eat.  Eating is my favorite thing, followed by play, and then a catnap.  Now, aren’t I intelligent?  Come see for yourself.

I am the littlest of my brothers Drakar and Spice, and a little more timid because I let them boss me around.  I love people and I have this thing my caretakers call a “tail” attached to my rear.   It is the funniest thing to watch as I try to catch it because it keeps escaping me.  One day it will be mine!

I am the brother of Charlie and Spice, but I have to say that I smell the best and have expensive taste.  I am very self-minded and into everything because the world is my playground.  Come play with me!

I am a VERY sweet, petite little girl with exquisite markings that set me apart from other kitties.  I am a love bunny that purrs like a lullaby.  I would like nothing more than to have my very own family that I share my dreams and hopes with.  Are you dreaming of me?

Hello.  My name is Buddy, and I am a one-year-old male mixed breed.  I am a fairly big boy, and I absolutely love everyone.  I am an active, fun-loving guy.  I like to run and play.  I also enjoy it when my friends here at the Shelter take me for a walk.  If you come out to the Shelter, we could meet and get to know one another.  Perhaps I could become a member of your family becuase I have a lot of love to give.  Thank you for giving me an opportunity to become your companion.

Of my litter mates, I think I am the sweetest.  I am calm, but like to play and then just chill out.  Eating is my hobby – second to just lounging around.  I am also nosy and into everything.  I love people so much, I want a family of my very own!  Please come visit me.

I am the most laid back of my group and always watchful.  I am very lazy, but love to snuggle.  If you have a bed, I’m in it.  If you have a lap, I’m on it.  Pop in a good movie (Dr. Doolittle) and we could have a great evening together!  And then the next day, too, and the next day, and ….zzzzzzzz.

I am a big boy that would be OK with older kids.  I also get along with other cats and dogs as long as they give me my own space.  I can be nervous in a new situation at first, but with patience and love, I will win your heart.  I love a good chin rub, so if you know an effective massage therapist, please hook me up and that’s sure to butter me up!

I am a Siamese mix that talks so much I won’t let you get a word in.  I have lots to talk about, like all of my adventures and the nice people who come to visit me at the Shelter.  I love my toys and I get into mischief when left alone too long.  When I do get into trouble, I’ll bat my beautiful blue eyes at you and you’ll just have to forgive me!

Priscilla is my name, and I am a one-year-old Sharpei and Rottweiler mix.  I love and get along with everyone – children and other dogs, as well.  I am extremely affectionate, and I am waiting for you here at the Shelter.  When you come to visit me, you can take me for a walk on the grounds here, and you’ll be truly pleased with how well we will get along.  So well, in fact, I know you will adopt me as part of your family.  Thanks.

Hello.  My name is Otis, and I am a one-year-old Walker Hound.  People say I’m a swell guy; I’m a very happy dog that just loves life.  I like everyone, and I’m waiting here at the Shelter for you to come visit so we can spend time getting to know each other.  Please know that I would very much like to become a member of your family.  Thanks for your kindness and consideration of me.
