I am a hound mix with an abundant supply of energy, and I am most affectionate and loving.  I long to run and play in the yard, as well as to enjoy all of my toys, as you can see.  Of course, my squeaky toys are the best!  I invite you to visit me at the Shelter so we can walk and play together.  After a little get-together, you just might need to have me as part of your family!

My name is Cocoa, and I am a Bassett-Doberman mix.  I am a very sweet, loving girl just bursting with energy.  I love to run, to play with my toys, and to go for walks.  I’m waiting for your visit so we can play and get to know each other.  Perhaps yours will become the forever home I’ve been longing for.

I am very outgoing and have a ton of energy that gets me into trouble.  I am very nosy and sometimes get myself into a pickle.  I would be great with anyone as long as you can put up with my playful, endless energy.  Come visit me and see for yourself.

I am a soft, goofy little kitty with lots of energy and love to give.  I am very playful and like to climb.  Superman is my hero and I like to try to fly like him, but I can’t find a cape to fit.  I would be great in any family, and you could be my new Superhero.

I am a bit more timid than my brothers and sisters, and I may not warm up right away, but given a chance, I will flop all over and gaze at you with my cute eyes.  I would not be good with smaller children because I get nervous easily, and I would not want to accidentally hurt a child.  I would be happy with older, gentle kids, though, or adults.

I have wonderful expressions that give me such character that everyone will love to have me in their home.  I like lots of toys to keep me busy, and my tail is the best toy ever made.  I make people laugh, and I also make people want to put their feet up after a hard day’s work and just let me love them, while we snuggle.

I am a VERY passionate BIG boy with LOTS and LOTS of love to share with everybody.  I am a chatter box and definitely a lap cat.  I also love to be on your head, wrapped around your legs, and ALWAYS sitting right in the middle of whatever you are trying to do.  I give love nibbles and I drool when I get overly happy.  If you have a passion for life, I will fit right in your arms.  Come see me so I can prove this to you!

I have A LOT to say and I want to SHOUT it to the world!  I LOVE attention and nothin’ is better than a good chin rub and a warm comfy lap.  (I’ll warm it up if it’s not ready for me.)  I have decided that I need to be the only cat in the household because I’m too jealous of others.  It has to be all about ME, ME, ME (of you, too, of course).  Please come visit me.

My name is Johnny, and I am a charming, very happy Lab mix.  I am full of energy and curious about everything.  I do enjoy playing with my squeaky toys, ropes, and sticks,  and the world in general amuses me greatly.  I am catching on well learning how to walk on a leash.  Please come visit me at the Shelter so we can get to know each other.  Perhaps my prayers will be answered, and yours will become my forever home.

I am a typical, sweet little loveball that loves anything that moves.  I have a beautiful deep shade of gray that makes me very attractive to everyone.  I like to romp around with my siblings, and nothing is more fun than a game of catch the string, lose it, and chase it again.  Please come visit me.

Piglet’s Pantry and The Wine Den are supporting The Humane Society of Lake County during “MT. DORA AT NITE” the third Friday of each month.  For the Doggies, there are “pupcakes” and cookies.  For Doggie Moms and Dads, there are hors d’oeuvres and by-the-glass wine specials.  During the hours from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., 10% of all proceeds will be donated to The Humane Society.  For the dates to take your pooch, please click the Events Calendar.

I am the spokesperson of my litter, and I always have something to say.  I am goofy and my BIG eyes are always watching everything around me.  I would be great in any family as long as there’s lots of love to go around!  Come see me at the Shelter, please!

I am a very rambunctious ‘tortico’ colored kitty that is a little silly.  I am a typical kitty that likes to run and jump and make a mess – and smile while doing it.  I have a sassy personality, and that will make you love me more!  I’m waiting for you at the Shelter!

Maggie is a special-needs dog.  She is a one-year-old medium-sized, mixed breed.  Maggie is a very sweet and loving dog.  She is, however, extremely afraid of new people and new surroundings.  We do not know what happened to Maggie in her past to cause her to be so fearful.  What we do know, though, is that Maggie needs someone with the time and patience she will require to adjust to a new home and environment.  Maggies does adjust, but just in baby steps.  She will, no doubt, do best in a quiet, adult environment.  If you give her the time and love she needs, she will return it tenfold.  We invite you to come to the Shelter and spend time with Maggie.  Maybe you will fall in love with her as much as the staff has!
