Supporting the Humane Society

Donating to the Humane Society
Making a Financial Donation – Financial donations may be made by check or cash at either the Thrift Shop or the Animal Shelter, and checks may be sent to our mailing address. (See our Contact Page for locations).
Gifts for the Animal Shelter can be delivered directly to the Shelter location. We always need pet food, cat litter, treats, cleaning supplies, office supplies, light bulbs, hand soap, paper goods, and many other items. If you have a question about an item, please call us at the shelter – 352-589-7400.
Our Sources of Income
The Humane Society of Lake County does not receive any financial assistance from taxes. In order to raise funds to be used in our education and enforcement programs, and for the care and treatment of abused, neglected or abandoned animals, the Humane Society relies on the following sources of revenue:
- Thrift Shop Sales – Our most important source of revenue is our Thrift Shop at 11 N. Eustis Street in downtown Eustis. The Thrift Shop is open Monday – Friday, and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Membership – We heartily welcome new members to The Humane Society of Lake County! For a free subscription to our newsletter and a membership application, please call us at 352-589-1772.
- Donations – Clothing and household items are needed for sale at our Thrift Shop, and can be dropped off during the hours the Shop is open. We are also pleased to accept cash donations at the Thrift Shop, or mailed to P.O. Box 1904, Eustis, FL 32727-1904.
- Fund Raising – We operate solely from our membership dues and fundraising efforts. We engage in a number of special projects throughout the year to raise money for our programs.
- Bequests – The Humane Society encourages its members, and the general public, to remember its work in their estate planning.
