WestMUTTster Dog Show

7th Annual WestMUTTster

We thank the Humane Society members, and the public at large, for your support and contributions to he Humane Society of Lake County.  We could not continue to operate without your kindnesses and support, for as you know, we do not receive any tax dollars.

In addition to your contributions, however, it is necessary for the Humane Society to engage in fund-raising activities within the community.  Our most significant fund-raiser is the annual WestMUTTster Dog Show held every November at the Lake County Fairgrounds. (This year the date is November 14.)  Each year, this event grows bigger, and now it is too large for just a handful of volunteers to manage.  A great deal must be accomplished before the first paw is placed on the stage, and many “paws” make light work.  This year, WestMUTTster will be held on Sunday, November 14.  If you would like to become involved with this event, please call our Shelter at 589-7400.  Thank you.

On the day of the show, registration will be from 11:30 – 1:30.  All dogs MUST wear rabies tags and have proof of current rabies vaccination. There will be doggie games from 12:00-1:30 and the  WestMUTTster Show will be from 2:00-4:00.

Competition areas are:  Children (5-15 years old) – Best Kisser, Best Trick, and Best Owner & Dog Look-a-Like.  Open Competition (Adults and Children) – Best Tailwagger, Best Kisser, Most Unusual Looking, Fluffiest, Best Trick, Best Owner  Dog Costume Look-a-Like, and Best of Show.   The Best of Show is the people’s choice from the first-place winner of each event.  Entry fees are $10 per dog for two competitions, and $5 for each additional event.
